OUR STATEMENTOF FAITH
Whosoever wants to be a member of Bethesda Alliance Church must be in fullest accord with evangelical truth subscribe to the following BETHESDA ALLIANCE CHURCH Board’s approved STATEMENT OF FAITH.
We believe :
- In one God who is infinitely perfect, existing in three persons : God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
- That Jesus-Christ, true God and true man, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice to justify, on the ground of his shed blood, all who believe in him.
- That Jesus-Christ arose from the dead according to the holy scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the majesty on high as our great priest and will imminently return to establish his kingdom of righteousness and peace.
- That the Holy Spirit is a divine person and was sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgement.
- In the devine authenticity of the Old and the New Testaments and in the omniscience, omnipotence, and the omnipresence of God.
- That man was originally created in the image and likeness of God, fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men inherit sin, separate from the life of God and can be saved only through the atoning work of our Lord Jesus-Christ.
- That salvation has been provided through Jesus-Christ for all men. Those who repent and believe in him are born again of the Holy Spirit and receive the gift of eternal life and become children of God.
- That God’s will is that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified holly.
- That through his redemptive work, Jesus-Christ has made provision for the healing of the mortal body.
- That Church consists of all of those who have faith in the Lord Jesus-Christ are redeemed through his blood and born again of the Holy Spirit.
- That marriage is a monogamous, covenantal relationship between a man and a woman in which sexual relationships are recognized as both morally pure and good. Marriages other than that of a man and a woman are incompatible with Bethesda Alliance Church’s biblically faithful Christian teaching. Marriages other than that of a man and a woman are prohibited at Bethesda Alliance Church. Gen. 1:27; Gen 1:31; Lev. 18:22, Lev. 20:13; Deut. 22:5, 1 Co 7:1-3.
- That Christ is the head of the body, the Church, which has been commissioned by him to into the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all men.
- The Bethesda Alliance Church, a local Church, is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the word of God, for prayers, followship, the proclamation of the Gospel, observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Super.
- That there shall be a bodily resurrection of the Just and the Unjust ; for the former, a resurrection unto life ; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgement.
- In the imminent second coming of our Lord Jesus-Christ and it shall be visible and premillenial. This is the fundamental believer’s hope and it is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.
